Bernard Jr. and Evangeline
This is one unbelievable wedding reception where the Father of the Bride (and then later the father of the groom!) almost stole the night!
Yes, every single guest, suppliers and crew alike, were all in astonishment, and our beautiful Evangeline is frozen stunned in disbelief, when the music played for the Father-Bride dance was a song she sang and recorded on a 90s tape recorder and sent to her father who was in the U.S. Navy. Can anyone imagine a brawny dad keeping and cherishing his 15-year old daughter’s recorded messages for some 20 years? Unbelievable, truly befits Mariah Carey’s Hero.
On this same fateful night, it was revealed that the main reason JR shifted from Law school to nursing was for the practical reason than he can opportunely follow Evangeline in the U.S. – such exposé that JR’s dad, himself a prosecutor who was looking forward to seeing his son JR follow his footsteps, found to be a strong case to blame Vangie and her dad for JR’s leaving the prestigious UP LAW!
So with those laughter and happy tears came happy tummies with Evangeline and Jr.’s gourmet Filipino menu. We started with Ilocano ultrathin pizza and our signature fresh lumpia as the guests arrive. As they were seated and the program starts, they were individually treated to green salad with lechon baka, rolled in our own-made pita bread, made more flavorsome by Chef Nic’s own dressing.
For the main course, the exceptionally tender grilled white squid is so notable because we don’t usually have it for the finer wedding receptions. The aroma coming from the lamb kaldereta has appetized the guests seated nearer the buffet station long before it was due for consumption. We believe they loved the lamb so much that one or two came over the prep area to let the team know how good it was. The flaky, crumbly bagnet and the asparagus pinakbet were a perfect addition for the genuine Ilocano palates.
Guests also indulged at the desserts station, scooping blueberry cheesecake and leche flan out from shot glasses, then later had coffee or tea with our favorite Ilocano pastry masa pudrida and coco yema.
To Vangie and Jr., cheers to continued marriage bliss and career success!
